Message from the President   English Portuguese Welcome to our site.. It is with great pleasure that I take on this two year term as one of the members of a very dedicated TEAM that will manage our great organization. This club was built by all with a lot of love and care and we will continue with the great tradition of building on what exists. We will be able to accomplish great things by simply building on the shoulders of those that came before us. We need to push the envelope and open our club to the whole community. There must be a place for ladies to come in, feel comfortable and do things of interest. Our youth must have a place to come and spend some enjoyable times. Most of all we the ones entrusted with this club must have an open mind to listen to all that come with ideas. We must create an environment were our youth can experience the hospitality that we as a Portuguese community are so well known for. We must have such things as the sponsoring of a senior soccer team, the building of a beach volleyball court, an annual picnic on the enormous yard and the like. This will bring youth, friends and family to our club. If we build it they will come. We must encourage and work with our different committees and if need be, create some new ones. We need to continue to support our "Rancho" and give them words of encouragement. We need to be generous when "Our Lady of Fatima Festival" committee comes knocking and asks for help. It is in giving that we receive and we must not forget. As one of the members of the executive I promise to listen and then act on ideas that; are brought to me, discussed and agreed to by the TEAM. .. together everything is possible Dominic Boas-vindas ... É com muito prazer que aceito este mandato de dois anos como membro desta EQUIPE, que se dedicará inteiramente á administração desta grande Organização. Este clube foi construído por todos com muito amor e carinho e nós continuaremos com a grande tradição de enriquecer aquilo que existe; poderemos realizar grandes eventos, como o fizeram aqueles que estiveram antes de nós. Necessitamos agora mudar um pouco em abrir o nosso clube à comunidade inteira. Deve haver um lugar para as Senhoras entrar, sentirem-se confortáveis e fazerem coisas de interesse. A nossa juventude tem que ter um lugar onde possam passar alguns tempos agradáveis. Mas sobre tudo devemos ter uma mente aberta e escutar todas as ideias que venho ate nos. Devemos criar um ambiente onde a nossa juventude possa experimentar a hospitalidade para que como uma comunidade portuguesa somos tão bem conhecidos. Devemos ter tais coisas como o patrocinar de uma equipe de futebol, o edifício de um campo de voleibol de praia, um piquenique anual e assim por diante. Isto trará a juventude, amigos e família ao nosso clube. Se o construirmos eles virão. Devemos encorajar e devemos trabalhar com as nossos comités: necessitamos continuar a apoiar o nosso "Rancho" e lhes dar palavras de animação, necessitamos de ser generosos quando a Comissão da Festa de "Nossa Senhora de Fatima" bater á nossa porta e pedir ajuda, devemos dar, porque dando é que nós recebemos. Como membro desta Comunidade e presidente do executivo, eu prometo escutar todas as ideias que me sejam evocadas pela comunidade e tudo farei, junto com a minha EQUIPE, desde que esteja ao nosso alcance. .... em conjunto tudo é possível Domingos
